And if that's the case why restrict yourself to one home that you have to maintain yourself, when you could not only spread your investment risk but enjoy dozens of different beautiful houses without any of the hassle of looking after them?

Membership of the Club will cost you a small fraction of what it would cost to buy just one villa of the quality offered by the Club. You could buy a two bedroom apartment in Spain for a similar sum of money, but investing that same amount in The Hideaways Club will buy you a share in an entire portfolio of luxury homes, as well as all the other benefits you get as a Member. And there are no hidden costs and none of the nasty surprises that typically come with owning property, especially overseas. Instead you pay an annual maintenance contribution, and this also includes your Destination Points allocation, which for Premium Membership entitles you to up to five holiday weeks every year.

You can also take confidence in the fact that the portfolio is selected and managed according to the same high standards used by professional fund managers, and compliance with all the appropriate financial services rules and regulations. What your membership actually buys is a share in a Gibraltar-registered property company, which in turn owns all of the individual properties.

Another Gibraltar-registered company manages the properties on your behalf as a Member, for which it receives 20% of any rise in the value of the whole portfolio. The remaining 80% belongs to the Members. You can track the value of the portfolio by following the changes in the share price of the property company. This will be reset periodically by the company to reflect any changes in the value of the portfolio as a whole, as well as the level of demand for membership. For example, if the share price grows by 10% per annum for 10 years, the return on your investment would be 159% excluding charges and any costs of borrowing.

And if you wish to cash in your membership at any time after the initial minimum three year period, the amount due will be calculated according to the property company share price at the time, less a 5% fee.
