Berlin’s Christmas Markets: Wander Through Festive Lights and Magic
Discover Berlin's Best Christmas Markets
During the festive season, many tourists flock to Berlin for the annual Christmas markets. The city is aglow with festive lights and there are about 60 Christmas markets to wander around and enjoy. Gendarmenmarkt Christmas Market The Weihnachtszauber at the Gendarmenmarkt is considered one of the best Christmas markets in Berlin. The market is located between three impressive buildings: The Deutsche Dom, the Konzerthaus and the Franzozische Friedrichstadtkirche and makes for a fine location. The Christmas market offers a cosy atmosphere with a giant Christmas tree, unique handmade-products, tasty food and daily live-plays to give the audience a real Christmassy feeling. Schloss Charlottenburg Christmas Market The Charlottenburg Palace is a beautiful backdrop for this Christmas market in City West. Here you can see an extravagant light display covering the market, the palace and the trees in a romantic glow. Wooden huts and marquees are decorated with natural materials, providing a festive and cosy atmosphere. Here you can peruse the stalls and admire a wide range of crafts and sample some hot chestnuts, crepes or Hungarian langos. The winter forest in front of the small orangery offers magical attractions for children. In the Märchenzelt (fairy tale tent), children can also try their hand at arts and crafts.
