Jerónimos Monastery

Jerónimos Monastery is one of Lisbon's most important cultural landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built in 1501 and closely tied to Portugal's Age of Discoveries.

It is a masterpiece of Manueline architecture, featuring intricate stonework, grand cloisters, and a peaceful interior. The monastery is also associated with Vasco da Gama, whose tomb lies inside the church.

Due to its popularity, it's best to visit early and book tickets in advance to avoid long queues, especially during peak season.
