The National Pantheon, located in Lisbon's Alfama district, is a grand Baroque monument originally built as the Church of Santa EngrĂ¡cia and later converted into a national mausoleum.
Its vast white marble interior features ornate chapels, commemorative tombs of prominent Portuguese figures, and a striking central dome that creates a sense of scale and serenity.
A major highlight is the rooftop terrace, which offers panoramic views over Alfama and the Tagus River, making the climb especially worthwhile. Today, it stands as both a place of remembrance and an architectural landmark.
