The Ancient History of Marrakech
At a thousand years old, Marrakech is unusual in the fact that the name of its founder - Sultan Youssef ben Tachfine - hasn't been lost to history, and the city's past is still remarkably present in other ways. The ancient, defensive walls of Marrakech enclose a city that was once the capital of a huge empire, and its prosperity is evident in the beautiful architecture that remains. The ruins of the 16th century El Badi Palace (known as "this incomparable place" in Arabic), Koutoubia Mosque and Saadian tombs all serve as a striking connection to Marrakech's long and captivating history

Our exclusive luxury villa is just 20 minutes away from the heart of the city, allowing you to fill your days under the Moroccan sun in the privacy of the property, or explore everything the city has to offer, from designer shopping to food stalls. You can also head into the foothills of the Atlas Mountains for hikes and bike rides, visit the sights of the coastal town of Essaouira, and for the more adventurous there is of course the Sahara Desert.
For a once in a lifetime experience, you can take a champagne lunch and drift over the beautiful surrounding areas of Marrakech in a hot air balloon before relaxing in Jad Mahal, a decadently decorated bar, restaurant and dance complex that's one of the city's hottest nightspots.
Food and Drink
Moroccan cuisine is born from a mix of Mediterranean, Arabic, Andalusian and Berber cooking, and the tang of preserved lemons and the sight of tagines can now be found in kitchens all over the world as people try to mimic the delicious tastes of this country. Our luxury villa provides the perfect home away from home, giving you the chance to explore these at your leisure, from the Ramadan soup Harira to the sweet mint tea known as "Moroccan whiskey". For great views over the square Jamaa El Fna, you can stop at the most famous Marrakech café, the Café De France.
