The History of Prague
The history of Prague plays out in front of your eyes through its diverse and remarkable buildings, which reflect the long and interesting past that formed the city as we see it today. Beginning with Slavic tribes building fortresses on opposing sides of the Vltava, Prague has been part of the Moravian Empire, ruled by the pious saint Wenceslas, made a seat of the Habsburgs Empire, occupied by the Nazis and liberated from communism. Baroque, Gothic, Art Nouveau and Cubist architecture all play a part here, from Prague Castle built in 870AD to Frank Gehry's Dancing Building in 1996.
What to See & Do in Prague
Our luxury apartment is in the beautiful Malá Strana, near the famous Charles Bridge and situated in an apartment building that dates back 700 years. From here you can delve into everything the city has to offer, whether this is searching for antique treasure in shops like Uhlíř Antiques, or visiting one of Prague's great music venues.
With the oldest established in the Middle Ages, Prague's historic gardens and parks are jewels in this already beautiful metropolis, showcasing the unique styles of the eras they were founded and offering stunning views across the city.
While lazy days spent meandering the streets and drinking coffee are an attractive prospect here, there's also enough sights to fill countless visits. Prague Zoo, which is often considered one of the most beautiful in the world, the toy museum in Prague Castle, the Prague Astronomical Clock and the National Museum in Wenceslas Square are all things worth putting on your "must-see" list.
Food and Drink in Prague
Prague has cultivated a reputation for serving some of the best beer across the globe, and while Pilsner Urquell and Budweiser are the two largest breweries in the Czech Republic, a vast array of creative crafts beers have begun to emerge. These can be enjoyed in traditional, century-old pubs like U Jelínků, beer bars, and arguably the best spot, Zlý časy in the Nusle district. There's also a ingrained culinary tradition in here, and during your stay in our luxury apartment you can try treats like the honey and nut cake called Medovník and the open faced sandwiches known as Chlebíčky.
