Your questions answered - how does The Hideaways Club benefit its Members?

But just what are the fundamentals of membership, and how can you make the most of it? We sat down with George Gibb, Head of Membership at The Hideaways Club, to find out.

Q: What are the benefits of being a member of The Hideaways Club?

Answer:

Members join the Club for a variety of reasons. I think a key benefit for many is the property co-ownership in a choice of locations around the world for a fraction of the cost compared with owning a home of a similar standard in just one location. Couple this with the Club property management and Concierge teams and Members really can travel from home to home, leaving everything to us.

Q: Who is membership open to?

Answer:

Membership is open to high-net-worth individuals who love to travel, typically with a group of friends and family, or who are looking to own a second home but don't want to be tied to just one location or deal with maintaining a property abroad.

Membership gives you access to many second homes for a fraction of the investment of going it alone, and with none of the purchase and upkeep worries, or the waste of having a home sitting empty for most of the year. About a third of our Members already have a second home and are familiar with the downsides of sole ownership so come to the Club looking for a 'top-up' solution that doesn't have the expense and burden of managing another property from afar.

Q: In your experience, which benefit of The Hideaways Club membership do Members appreciate the most?

Answer:

They really appreciate the reliable consistency in the homes they visit and the service they receive. Each property has the great design hallmarks of a Hideaways Club home, yet is customised to the area they are visiting. Each Member has a dedicated Personal Concierge to help with their pre-travel planning and in location, a local host is only a phone call away for any travel advice or assistance with grocery shopping, restaurant bookings, excursions and the like. There is peace of mind in knowing that your next trip is going to be as great as the last, if not better.

Q: And what are the more unexpected benefits that Members will discover and can take advantage of?

Answer:

It's amazing just how far Members can travel and the many destinations they can call home. Many Members join with a few favourite destinations in mind but after a few trips, they're keen to try out new locations and experiences knowing they're in safe hands with the Club.

Aside from the Club properties, Members also have access to many more through our partnerships in places such as the Caribbean, Hawaii, the Indian Ocean and across south-east Asia.

Q: Do the benefits vary depending on if a member has Classic or City Collection membership?

Answer:

The benefits are similar and many are Members of both Collections. With the Classic Collection a lot of our properties are real 'hideaways' - places where you can enjoy quality time with friends and family in the privacy of your own home, yet be within a short driving distance of local attractions and towns. Alternatively, the City Collection tends to place you right in the city centre so you have a whole load of things to do and see right on your doorstep. Whichever collection Members join, the Concierge service is the same and is always on hand to assist.

Q: How can a member make the most of their membership?

Answer:

Get to know your Personal Concierge and don't be afraid to ask. Your Concierge is a great resource for local recommendations and experiences and can really help you make the most of your trip - there's nothing worse than finding local gems on the last day of a trip. After all, the whole point of membership is that your time is spent making memories and not endlessly searching for where to go and what to do. We take care of all of that for you.

Q: Are there any additional membership benefits in the pipeline?

Answer:

We're always looking at ways Members can spend their points/nights. We already have some great partnerships where Members can book nights at, for example, the Eden Club for golfing breaks in Scotland, luxurious villas in the Caribbean and Costa Rica, or enjoy a few nights at a private game lodge in South Africa. And we're discussing a few more partnerships that will bring more destinations and experiences than ever to Club Members.

For anyone considering joining The Hideaways Club, which, in your opinion, is the single most important and appealing benefit to Members?

Answer:

I think it's the benefit of time; a real luxury in today's hectic world. Club Members needn't waste time searching through and comparing lists of potential villa rentals, waste time trying out new rental companies (with varying results), or spend time having to organise and manage their home when it can all be done for them by our team that they know and trust.
