London - UK:

Whether your interest is in food, culture, history, sport or art (or anything else), London has something to offer. It's a fantastic city to visit with the family during any holiday or festival, and Easter is no exception. Here are a few of the most exciting things to do in London this Easter:

Meet The Moomins at Kew Gardens

When: Saturday 1st April - Monday 17th April

Kew Gardens were chosen as the subject (and title) of a short story by Virginia Woolf for good reason. The gardens are a picturesque and tranquil attraction all year round, but this April the gardens are making a particular effort to ensure Easter is magical.

Inspired by Tove Jansson's beloved fictional characters, throughout the month, you can follow a hidden, interactive trail through the gardens which culminates in a magical Moomin camp. Craft workshops and Moomin Pancake tasting are but a sample of the events you can take part in; kids and adult fans alike will love this magical experience.

Make your own chocolate treats at My Chocolate

When: Thursday 13th April - Saturday 15th April

It wouldn't be Easter without chocolate, and a getaway to London this year could give the opportunity to make your own. My Chocolate are offering visitors the chance to explore their inner chocolatier by taking part in an Easter workshop. After learning about the history of chocolate, you'll be invited to design your own Easter chocolate treats. Embrace your creativity and create a delicious and personal piece of chocolate artwork this April.

Barcelona - Spain:

The Semanta Santa (or 'Holy Week') is an important tradition in Spain and the religious significance of Easter results in some incredible sights. Barcelona is a great destination to explore this April, and offers families the chance to experience some unforgettable Easter events.

Witness an Extravagant Easter Procession

When: Throughout the Easter Weekend

During Easter, processions take place all over Spain, and Barcelona is no exception. Organised by the 'Hermandades y Cofradias de Penitencia' - religious brotherhoods of lay people - these marches are incredible spectacles. Huge floats adorned with wooden effigies of religious figures are carried, by 30-50 porters, from parish churches Barcelona Cathedral and back. They're an astonishing sight to behold, and people of all ages line the streets to observe these mesmerising feats.

Visit the Museu de la Xocolata

When: Every day

Many of us enjoy eating chocolate, and often Easter is the time of year when we get to indulge this love the most. If you fit firmly into this category, then a visit to the Museu de la Xocolata will delight, and provide a wonderful day out for the whole family.

Reminiscent of Charlie's 'Golden Ticket', even your entry ticket itself is a bar of chocolate. Spending some time looking around, you and your loved ones can learn about the history of chocolate and see some unbelievable life-sized sculptures made entirely of chocolate.

Be amazed by the Magic Fountain

When: Every evening - 9pm to 10:30pm

The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc was built in 1929 during the Great Universal Exhibition, in under a year, by 3000 workers; many thought the project was impossible.

It still stands today, and offers an incredible evening experience. Once your day is winding down, and you've had your fill of artisan chocolate, head over to the fountain in the evening to witness a seamless and beautiful display of light, colour, music and water acrobatics. Any trip to Barcelona is incomplete without experiencing this incredible sight, and it will make your Easter getaway truly unforgettable.

New York - USA:

The subject of countless films, TV shows, books and works of art, New York is a city everyone should try and visit at least once - with all sorts of attractions and special events underway in April, why not make The Big Apple your destination this Easter?

See the Fifth Avenue Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival

When: Easter Sunday - 10am - 4pm approximately

A time-honoured tradition dating back to the 1870s, the New York Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival is a memory that you and your family will cherish forever. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Fifth Avenue, and immortalised by Fred Astaire and Judy Garland in the aptly titled film 'Easter Parade', the event takes places on Easter Sunday.

People of all ages take part in the parade, and don their best Easter finery - everything from bonnets and top hats to outlandish modern fashion statements can be seen along the Avenue during the parade, and it's an informal and friendly affair. The parade is a global cultural event, and watching, or taking part is certain to make your Easter holiday really special.

Paris - France:

Easter may not be a specifically romantic holiday, but there's no reason why you couldn't make the City of Love your destination this April.

Hunt eggs in the grounds of Vaux-le-Vicomte

When: Saturday 15th - Monday 17th of April

The majestic grounds of Vaux-le-Vicomte, located a short drive from the City itself, are home to one of the most elaborate and impressive Easter egg hunts in the world. Perfect for children of all ages, over 35,000 will be hidden in the stunningly beautiful gardens.
