New ideas and inspiration
Curated by The TRIP {COLLECTION}
Some of the most inspiring travel advice doesn't come from guidebooks. It comes from people who simply love to travel well - and take the time to share what they've found.
David and Anne-Marie Taylor, Members of The Hideaways
Club, began The TRIP
{COLLECTION} a few years ago with exactly that spirit: a
beautifully curated travel resource, written by discerning
travellers for discerning travellers. What started as a personal
passion project has grown into something rather remarkable. Since
2023, David and Anne-Marie have visited over 20 Hideaways Club
properties, curated countless destination itineraries, and reviewed
a carefully considered selection of hotels and experiences along
the way - all captured with the kind of insider knowledge that only
comes from truly getting to know a place.
Their work sits amongst the 70+ itineraries curated by The
Hideaways Club team and our partners at Far & Wild, forming a rich and
growing resource for our community. And, The TRIP {COLLECTION}
brings something distinct: the honest voice of Club Members who
travel the way you do.
We are delighted to share a few of their newest itineraries, each
one a how-to guide on how to get the very best from a
destination.
Nice: Sunlit Seafront & Old-Town Colour
There's more to Nice than the Promenade des Anglais and this itinerary proves it. From the morning flower market at Cours Saleya to the calm of Musée Matisse up in Cimiez, David and Anne-Marie's guide reveals the city in its full, layered depth. They stayed at the freshly renovated Hôtel La Pérouse, tucked into the cliff beneath Parc du Château with a sea-facing terrace that, in their words, was worth every penny. Day trips to Villefranche-sur-Mer, Menton and Èze add further colour to what is a wonderfully complete portrait of the Riviera. Closer to home for Club Members, our properties on the Côte d'Azur offer the perfect villa base from which to explore the region.
Tuscany: Hilltop Villages, Rolling Vineyards & Quiet Roads
David and Anne-Marie chose to explore Tuscany's quieter south-west corner - the area around Lajatico and Peccioli - and the result is one of those itineraries that makes you want to pack immediately. Cypress-lined roads, stone farmhouses, secret viewpoints and genuinely excellent restaurants: their guide captures the region's unhurried pleasures beautifully. They stayed at Podere Le Sensaie, The Hideaways Club's recently redecorated farmhouse set high on a hill with panoramic views across the rolling landscape, and found it the perfect base for day trips to Lucca, Volterra, Florence and the coast.
Cape Town: Waterside, Winelands & World-Class Dining
Few cities deliver quite so much in so little time. David and Anne-Marie's Cape Town guide moves between the V&A Waterfront's galleries and buzzing restaurants, the wide golden sands of Camps Bay, and the vineyard-draped hills of Franschhoek - where a stay at Leeu Estate and dinner at La Petite Colombe made a lasting impression. Their insider tip: visit in spring (October) for warm weather without the peak-season crowds. The guide also features Villa Steenberg, The Hideaways Club's own property on the Cape Peninsula's oldest wine estate, which they recommend as the ideal base for exploring Constantia's celebrated wine country.
