The rise of flexible memberships
The Hideaways Club has evolved its membership model to offer greater flexibility at different stages of life. The changes allow prospective members to experience the club before committing, while giving existing members the ability to adapt their membership as their lives and travel needs change.
Waitlist Membership
The new Waitlist Membership offers prospective members the
opportunity to experience the club first-hand before moving to full
membership.
Released each autumn and strictly limited to just 10 places, Waitlist Membership provides 10 nights of travel with the club across its two collections: up to seven nights across a curated selection of club homes, plus an additional three nights within the City Collection.
Waitlist members receive full member login access, dedicated concierge support and invitations to selected club events and experiences, giving them a genuine insight into the homes, service and community before deciding whether full membership is right for them.
The Waitlist Membership fee is £15,000 (approx. $20,000), which is fully credited towards full membership if the individual decides to join within two years.
SherpaReport readers and visitors will receive priority access to the limited annual allocation of 10 Waitlist Membership places, giving them an opportunity to register their interest ahead of the wider audience.
Flexible Membership Options
The adaptability continues once someone becomes a full member.
Depending on their chosen share class and how they want to use the
club, members can travel for approximately 12 to 100 nights per
year. The club offers two funds: the Classic Collection, with
expansive homes and villas across Europe, Asia, and Africa, and the
City Collection, with apartments in some of the world's leading
cities. Members can join one or both of the funds; for instance,
the Prime Membership offers 52 nights or more per year across all
the club's villas, chalets, and city homes, with an annual fee of
£34,000 (approx. $45,000).
A few sample homes include a honey-hued stone 4-bedroom villa in Provence, France (pictured above). The large pool and deck area has sweeping views over the wooded valley and is surrounded by terraced gardens filled with lavender and other flowering Mediterranean shrubs.
In Lisbon, Portugal, the top-floor 2-bedroom apartment is set on a quiet, tree-lined street overlooking a charming central square. Cafés, galleries, theatres and some of Lisbon's best restaurants are moments away.
Members can also roll over unused nights for up to three years, giving them greater freedom to travel more extensively in some years and less in others, as their lives move through various chapters.
Importantly, Hideaways Club membership is designed to evolve alongside members' lives. Members can move between share classes over time, making it straightforward to increase or decrease their level of membership as their circumstances and travel habits change. The club has seen many members do this - increasing their usage during certain periods of their lives and adapting it again later.
As chapters come to a close, members can also transfer or pass on their membership shares, and a significant number have chosen to give their membership to the next generation to continue family travel traditions.
