A Hideaways home on the boho Balearic isle
Villa La Solana
Perched on top of the hills of Es Cubells, one of Ibiza's most exclusive yet rustic coves, Villa la Solana is a magnificent finca that offers the best of both worlds - privacy, and easy access to the glorious beaches of the island.
Situated safely off the tourist trail, a stay at La Solana
allows you to discover the quiet side of Ibiza, marked by small
provincial towns, beautiful farmhouses and hidden sandy
beaches.
The house, which literally translates to 'the sunny spot', is a
whitewashed villa with a feature tower, surrounded by a garden and
a large swimming pool with views of the countryside and the
Mediterranean sea below.
Wander down to the beach
Walk down to the village and follow a steep road that leads down to Cala des Cubells, a long narrow beach of rock and sand. This is a great spot for snorkelling and sundowners at the beach bar. Or explore the village itself, which is one of the smallest on the island, consisting of little more than a handful of traditional whitewashed houses, a charming church, and a few local eateries. But what it may lack in size, it more than makes up for in sheer beauty, with sweeping views of the azure waters of the Mediterranean below.
Es VedrĂ
Of course, there is the rest of the island to explore. The southwest and west of the island offers majestic views of the Es VedrĂ , best enjoyed at sunset, while the north and east abounds with olive trees, pines and old-world villages where time has stood still.
'Stylish and upbeat fun on the White Isle'
"We stayed at Villa Solana, part of The Hideaways Club that we are members of. The whitewashed villa offers a secluded location in the South West part of the island while still being close to some beautiful beaches and local villages. The interior design is contemporary with light wood, straw light fittings and white sofas. We liked the villa so much we have been back a second time and will visit again next year!"
Our members, David and Anne Marie, visited Villa La Solana in June and are visiting again later this year.
The duo love discovering new places, from desirable destinations to food and drink hotspots. They have decided to share their favourite trips on their new travel website to inspire other discerning globetrotters.
