The British Virgin Islands (BVI) enjoy a unique position — easy to get to, but still a hidden enclave of secluded serenity. Virgin Gorda is the BVI’s third-largest island. Reportedly, Christopher Columbus named it because he thought its hilly hourglass shape resembled a heavyset reclining maiden (fat virgin). Many regard Virgin Gorda as the BVI’s most beautiful island, with breathtaking views, spectacular beaches and nature sanctuaries. On Virgin Gorda, you'll find The Baths, unique grottoes and sheltered, crystal-clear sea pools amidst gigantic granite boulders. Snorkeling and exploring this geological wonder are not to be missed! Sustainability-minded hotelier Laurance Rockefeller opened Little Dix Bay, Virgin Gorda’s most famous resort, in 1964. The resort still exists today (rebuilt) as the Rosewood Little Dix Bay and offers guests excellent dining overlooking the gorgeous turquoise sea. The BVIs are also a boater’s paradise, so another favorite thing to do here is to book a full or half-day charter to explore nearby islands.

Transfer:   Terrance B. Lettsome Airport (EIS); Once landing in EIS (Beef Island, Tortola), you will take Speedy's Ferry or a Private Taxi to Virgin Gorda. Additional Options: Fly into STT (St. Thomas) and take a 15 minute charter flight or private water taxi to VIJ. Fly into SJU (San Juan) and take 60 minute charter flight to VIJ.
